About Us

About Us

Hoofbeats was founded by Sharon Vieira, who has been taking in unwanted horses and ponies for over 30 years and is passionate about keeping them as naturally as possible. Our horses and ponies run as a herd which enables them to interact, socialise and groom each other just as they would in the wild.    With a passion for rehabilitation, sanctuary and well being of equines; we use holistic care, natural therapy and extraordinary communication to create the opportunity for a healthy, fulfilling and peaceful future.    Our primary aim is to re-home on a permanent loan basis, to homes that have been approved and are regularly monitored. (Priority is given to the South West)

Support our work: donating supplies

We gratefully accept donations of quality new and used equestrian items to help us to continue our work.  Including everything from equipment and horse wear, medical supplies, feed, and rider wear, any surplus items donated, if not used on site,  are sold in our charity tack shop to raise much needed funds.  We are very grateful to the Farmyard Cafe  for their donation of this space, which also serves as a handy drop off point.

If you'd like to donate new items from further afield, our Amazon Wish List is a hassle free method of donating items to land on our doorstep, and this includes some of our most used items.  Please click the Amazon logo to view our Wish List.

All donations are gratefully received, thank you for your generosity.
